Marica Casarella is an independent author with a degree in Foreign Languages and Literatures, with a specialization in English and Spanish, and a strong passion for travel, languages and cultural exchange. After university, she spent a year living in New York City, an experience that reshaped her worldview and gave her firsthand insight into the real challenges of communicating daily in a foreign language.
She has worked in international corporate environments, using English on a daily basis and collaborating with people from different countries and cultures. These experiences helped her develop a practical understanding of the gap between studying a language and actually using it in real-life situations, especially the difficulty of understanding replies in spontaneous conversations.
Her writing is driven by a clear goal: to make language learning more practical, human and accessible for beginners approaching Italian for the first time and for children discovering languages and places through creative activities. Marica believes that learning a language is not about perfection, but about connection, and through her books she aims to help readers feel more confident, prepared, and at ease in everyday communication.
She lives in a small town in the province of Milan, where she grew up. She is married and a mother of two young daughters. Inspired by motherhood, she also creates educational and activity books for children, including language-themed and travel-inspired coloring books, designed to introduce new words, concepts and cultures in a playful and accessible way.
