“Easy Italian Phrasebook” is a unique method of learning Italian as it doesn’t focus on learning the language as a whole, just the important aspects of general conversation, emergency communication, and identifying as a traveler all the important terms that you’ll require on your stay. It begins with a very nicely laid out introduction on the best way to use the book and exactly what you can expect and not expect from it. The short communication phrases are listed in English, then Italian and then as a phonetic transcription to easily help you pronounce each sentence. The book includes a website link so you can follow along with a native Italian speaker that immensely helps you with your pronunciation of the words, called the audio companion. Beyond learning the language it contains informational blocks throughout the book about Italian cultural notes that contain tips about local customs, traveling dining and lodging, tipping, etc. that I found very helpful. I would recommend this book to anyone who would like to quickly pick up some Italian prior to making their trip to Italy.

All the phrases are really helpful for me to use since I’m going to Italy for vacation soon! The phonetics are useful and allows me to understand how to pronounce certain words clearly! It’s easy to follow and helped me expand my vocab right before my trip!
